Another one of my favorite mudras, and chakras to continuously learn about, correlating very closely to the sixth!
We have been discussing the Mudras and the Chakras, starting with the first chakra and making our way up, today we move on to the mudra and bija of our crown chakra.
Looking at the picture, you may notice this mudra is the same as the one for the sixth chakra, this is not an error. This mudra therefore has the same recommendations, to be practiced however you prefer. Whether you are standing, sitting, supine, and for however long you feel.
This mudra is paired with our crown, spiritual divine, enlightenment. But how can that be if it is the same mudra as the previous chakra? Because, the bija with which we pair, is different. The bija for this chakra is, Aum.
I truly recommend a refresher for this chakra as it is the most complex, in my opinion, The Crown Chakra – Chakra Seven. This mudra for our seventh chakra is believed to enhance our mastery of the spiritual, our oneness. Practicing this mudra is believed to sharpen our memory and overall brain and concentration like the last however, it is also to help with anger, depression and hysteria.
You can practice all the mudras during one practice, moving from the first through to the last or individually. The mudras with the bijas are amazing together. Once you are feeling comfortable with the mudras, they are also great to pair with the poses with which correlate to each chakra.
If you need further assistance achieving a mudra, please let me know. If you have been practicing the mudras and would like to share you experience, we would love to hear it!
