Here in the United States we are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. This holiday seems to become passed by more and more quickly every year without second thought. The holiday in itself is to give thanks. That simple. When people, hundreds of years ago, set out on a voyage for a new world and new opportunity and stumbled into what we know as the United States of America. That is what we are celebrating, new opportunity, family, friends, and everything good and beautiful in our lives. Not stuffing food.
This week I would like to revisit the simple art of gratitude.
Today I would like to express how grateful I am for my amazing yoga mentor and the universe for bringing her into my life. I am a forever student, there is always something to learn in my opinion and I am grateful to have someone who is so knowledgeable. Not just knowledgeable really, kind, willing to teach, always happy to question and make me think.
Always thirsty for a good book, she has had a new read I have been inspired to get every time I see her. They are enlightening and, have no fear, I have every intention of sharing them all with you. My mentor does not just inspire my yoga teaching but, my practice, my thoughts, my soul.
As a yoga teacher there is so much to learn, it would only be cheating my students if I received my certification and that was that. B.K.S Iyengar encourages having a guru. I believe I have mine. So, that is what I am thankful for not just today but everyday since I have met her. She makes me feel at home.
In all the hustle and bustle of the holidays can you remember to take time for thanks? What are you grateful for today? Despite how chaotic everything is, please take time to center yourself and remember just how amazing life is.
